Getting ready for your headshot or portrait session can be nerve wracking! What do I wear? What do I do? Here are some “Do’s and Dont’s” that will help you prepare and feel more confident walking into your session!

  • Wear clothes that are professional, but also that you are fully comfortable in wearing.

  • Do wear solid color clothing (Except for black, white, or busy patterns)

  • Do loosen up by practicing your looks in front of mirror before your session.

  • Do try your best to take direction. You’re working with a professional who wants you to look and feel your best!

  • Authenticity is the key to a great photo, and sitting in your truth will allow a great photographer the ability to create an incredible shot.

  • Relax! And have fun!

  • Don’t wear a distracting clothing (black, white, or busy patterns)

  • Don’t wear clothing with words or large logos.

  • Don’t over accessorize. Less is more.

  • Don’t wear clothing that you don’t feel comfortable in.

  • Don’t overdo it with the makeup. This is definitely a less is more situation.
